Does the reduction target apply to energy use or emissions?

This calculator applies the percentage to emissions in tCO2e, not directly to kWh. Energy use and emissions may move differently if the energy mix changes.

Can I use a portfolio baseline instead of one building?

Yes, if the baseline represents the full portfolio and the result is interpreted at the same scope. Keep building additions, disposals, and boundary changes consistent with your target method.

Why is the annual progress figure linear?

It is a simple planning average that divides the total required cut by the number of years. Real projects often produce larger reductions in some years than others.

What happens at a 100% reduction target?

The target annual emissions become zero relative to the entered baseline. The tool does not determine whether zero operational emissions is technically or contractually achievable.
