Occupied connector-hours measure total daily charging time across all sessions. Available connector-hours equal the number of connectors multiplied by the hours each connector can be used. A value above 100% means the entered demand exceeds stated capacity and would require overlapping demand, longer operating hours, or more connectors.

Should dwell time be included in session duration?
Include it when a vehicle normally occupies the connector after active charging ends. Excluding dwell time can understate real-world occupancy.
What time period should I use?
Use one consistent day or an average day. For seasonal sites, calculate representative peak and off-peak days separately.
Does high utilization always mean another charger is needed?
Not necessarily. Scheduling, pricing, load sharing, and reducing unnecessary dwell time may improve access before hardware is added.
How is utilization different from energy throughput?
