Content Impression Calculator

The Content Impression Calculator estimates total content impressions from unique reach and average frequency. It projects how many times content will be displayed when each reached person or account is expected to see it a certain number of times.

This is useful for media planning, inventory forecasting, and translating an audience target into an impression requirement. Enter reach and frequency for the same campaign scope, platform mix, and time period. The estimate assumes the average frequency is achieved across the reached audience, although actual delivery will be uneven. It does not predict viewability, attention, clicks, or conversions. Use the result to size a distribution plan, then pair it with CPM to estimate spend or with CTR to estimate click volume.

1. Enter planned reach
Provide the number of unique people or accounts the campaign is expected to reach.

2. Set target frequency
Enter the average number of times each reached person should see the content.

3. Review impressions
The result gives the total display volume implied by the reach and frequency plan.

4. Check repeat exposure
Supporting results separate estimated first exposures from additional impressions.

5. Use the result in budget planning
Combine impressions with CPM to estimate paid distribution spend when appropriate.

Estimated content impressions = Planned unique reach × Target average frequency

Planned unique reach is the number of distinct people or accounts expected to receive at least one exposure. Target average frequency is the mean number of exposures per reached person. Multiplication gives total estimated impressions. Actual delivery may vary because some people receive more impressions than others and platform deduplication may differ.

What the result means

Use the main value as a campaign-level summary and review the supporting figures to understand scale and efficiency.

Results depend on the accuracy, attribution rules, and reporting scope of the inputs.

Given:
• Planned reach: 275,000 people
• Target frequency: 2.8

Calculation:
Estimated impressions = 275,000 × 2.8 = 770,000
Repeat impressions = 770,000 − 275,000 = 495,000

Result:
The plan requires about 770,000 impressions to reach 275,000 people at an average frequency of 2.8.

Are impressions guaranteed to equal reach times frequency?

It is the mathematical relationship for averages, but actual platform delivery and deduplication can cause reporting differences.

What frequency should I enter?

Use a campaign target or historical average that fits the channel, duration, and objective. The calculator does not prescribe an ideal level.

Can reach be zero?

Yes. Zero reach produces zero estimated impressions regardless of the entered frequency.

Do impressions measure attention?

No. An impression records delivery or display under the platform definition, not whether the person noticed the content.

How can I estimate budget from this result?

Multiply estimated impressions divided by 1,000 by the expected CPM.
