What the result means

The result combines the selected body-weight baseline with an exercise-specific fluid addition.

Both underhydration and excessive fluid intake can be harmful. Medical fluid restrictions override this estimate.

Given: 70 kg, 30 mL/kg baseline, 60 minutes exercise, and 500 mL/hour exercise addition.

Calculation: Baseline = 70 × 30 = 2,100 mL. Exercise addition = 60 ÷ 60 × 500 = 500 mL. Total = 2,600 mL.

Result: Estimated daily total is 2.6 L.

Is the baseline factor a universal recommendation?

No. It is an adjustable planning assumption, and appropriate fluid intake varies widely.

Does food moisture count?

Total water intake can include water in foods and beverages, but this calculator reports the amount produced by your chosen inputs.

How should I choose the exercise rate?
