Homework Revision Calculator

The Homework Revision Calculator estimates the time needed to revise a set of homework topics through one or more passes. It then divides the total into a daily target based on the days remaining. A pass can represent reviewing notes, correcting errors, reworking problems, or testing recall.

This is useful when revision includes many small topics and it is difficult to judge whether the plan fits the available calendar. The calculator assumes the same average time per topic for every pass. Topics that need extra work can be handled by raising the average minutes or adding a buffer pass.

Total revision minutes = Total topic-passes × Minutes per topic per pass
Revision hours per day = Total revision minutes ÷ 60 ÷ Days available

What the result means

The main result is the estimated time for all planned revision passes. The daily target shows the average pace required to finish by the deadline.

Later passes may be faster than the first. The calculator uses one average time, so adjust it to represent the overall plan.

Given

There are 18 topics, each pass averages 22 minutes, two passes are planned, and six days remain.

Calculation

Topic-passes = 18 × 2 = 36. Total minutes = 36 × 22 = 792 minutes. Total hours = 792 ÷ 60 = 13.2 hours. Daily time = 13.2 ÷ 6 = 2.2 hours.

Result

The revision plan requires about 13.2 hours total, or 2.2 hours per day.

What counts as one revision pass?

One pass is one complete round through all selected topics using a consistent activity, such as error correction or recall practice.

Should every topic use the same time?

The calculator uses an average. Estimate a blended time or group easy and difficult topics into separate calculations.

Can I include a final practice test?

You can add its time by increasing the average minutes or treating it as extra topic-equivalents.

What if the daily target is too high?

Reduce the number of passes, prioritize fewer topics, start earlier, or use shorter focused review methods.

Does more revision always improve results?

Not automatically. Quality, spacing, feedback, and active recall often matter more than simply repeating material.
