This calculator splits a in-game economy event prize pool after an optional platform or organizer fee, then applies percentage shares for first, second, and third place. It is designed for quick planning when a pool needs a transparent payout structure before an event, competition, or reward distribution is published.

The place percentages are applied to the distributable pool after the fee is removed. If the three shares total less than 100%, the calculator leaves the difference as an unallocated remainder that can be assigned to additional ranks, team bonuses, community rewards, or reserves. This makes the result easier to audit than a split that silently forces every dollar into the top three positions.

What the result means

Payout percentages are applied after the entered fee.

Given: A in-game economy event competition has a $10,000 pool, a 5% organizer fee, and shares of 50% for first, 30% for second, and 20% for third.

Calculation: Distributable pool = $10,000 × 0.95 = $9,500. First = $9,500 × 0.50 = $4,750. Second = $2,850. Third = $1,900. Remainder = $0.

Result: After the fee, $9,500 is distributed: $4,750 to first place, $2,850 to second, and $1,900 to third.

Are the place percentages applied before or after the fee?

They are applied after the entered fee is deducted. This keeps the payout percentages tied to the amount actually available for prizes.

What if the top-three shares total less than 100%?

The unused share appears as the unallocated remainder. You can reserve it for additional ranks, bonuses, or another purpose.

Can the shares total more than 100%?

No. The calculator flags that input because it would allocate more than the distributable prize pool.

Does this handle team splits within each placement?

No. It calculates the amount assigned to each placement. If a winning placement is a team, divide that placement amount separately according to the team’s rules.

Does the result include taxes or payment processing charges?

Only the fee percentage you enter is deducted. Taxes, withholding, processor fees, currency conversion, or other deductions must be handled separately unless you include them in the fee assumption.
