Is this a scientifically validated recovery-time formula?

No. It is a transparent planning model built around your own baseline and normal recovery practice. Human recovery does not follow one fixed equation.

Why use my typical load instead of a universal threshold?

Training tolerance is individual and changes over time. A personal baseline makes the comparison about deviation from your own routine rather than an arbitrary population number.

What should I use for weekly load?

Use one consistent metric for both current and typical values. Session-RPE load is one option, but the ratio is only meaningful if both values were calculated the same way.

Can the estimate be shorter than my usual recovery time?

Yes, if current load is below your baseline. That does not mean you must shorten recovery; it only reflects the arithmetic of this planning model.

What if I feel unusually sore or unwell before the estimated window ends?

Do not use the calculator to override symptoms. Modify training as appropriate and seek qualified medical guidance when symptoms are significant or concerning.
