Formulas:

Bundle discount % = (Regular total − Bundle price) ÷ Regular total × 100
Contribution margin % = (Bundle price − Product costs − Fulfillment − Fees) ÷ Bundle price × 100

Percentage fees are calculated on the bundle price, then the fixed fee is added.

What the result means

The main result shows the percentage of bundle revenue left after the entered variable costs.

The calculation does not estimate whether bundling will change conversion rate, average order value, or return behavior.

Given: Items total $90 separately, bundle price is $75, product cost is $32, fulfillment and packaging are $6, and fees are 3% + $0.30.

Calculation: Customer savings = $90 − $75 = $15. Discount = $15 ÷ $90 = 16.67%. Fees = $75 × 3% + $0.30 = $2.55. Contribution profit = $75 − $32 − $6 − $2.55 = $34.45. Margin = $34.45 ÷ $75 = 45.93%.

Result: Bundle contribution margin = 45.93%.

The offer saves the customer 16.67% while retaining $34.45 in contribution profit.

Should regular total use current or list prices?

Use the prices customers would realistically pay separately at the time the bundle is offered. Inflated comparison prices can misrepresent the savings.

Can one bundle contain different quantities of each product?

Yes. Add the regular prices and costs for the exact quantities included in one bundle.

How do I include special bundle packaging?

Add all incremental packaging and assembly expenses to fulfillment and packaging cost.

Is a higher bundle margin always better?

Not necessarily. A smaller margin may be acceptable if the bundle raises average order value, moves slow inventory, or reduces fulfillment cost per item.

What if the bundle price exceeds the separate-item total?

The customer savings will be negative, indicating a premium bundle. That may be reasonable only when the bundle adds exclusive value or service.
