The Warehouse Picking Service Level Estimator calculates the percentage of picking orders completed within a defined target time. It uses the number of orders meeting the target and the total eligible orders, with an optional excluded-order count for records that should not be judged against the target.

1. Define the reporting population
Enter all picking orders observed in the period.

Given: 1,250 total orders; 35 exclusions; 1,138 eligible orders meeting a 30-minute target.

Calculation: Eligible orders = 1,250 − 35 = 1,215. Service level = 1,138 ÷ 1,215 × 100 = 93.66%. Misses = 77.

Result: 93.66% picking service level.

Interpretation: About 94 of every 100 eligible orders met the defined 30-minute picking target during the period.

What should count as the start of picking time?

Use one operational event consistently, such as order release to the picking queue or first pick assignment. Changing the start event changes the meaning of the service level.

Can I exclude stockout orders?

You can if your reporting policy explicitly excludes them and the rule is applied consistently. For root-cause analysis, it is often useful to track excluded stockout orders separately.

Why record the target duration if it is not in the percentage formula?

The target determines which orders qualify as meeting service. Recording it prevents a percentage from being compared with another period that used a different threshold.

Is service level the same as picking accuracy?

No. Service level here measures timeliness, while picking accuracy measures whether the correct items and quantities were picked.

What if there are no eligible orders?

A service-level percentage is undefined when the denominator is zero. This calculator therefore requires at least one eligible order.
