1. Count usable locations
Enter only locations that can actually be assigned to inventory in the modeled zone or area.
2. Estimate units per location
Use a representative average for the slot type, product mix, and storage constraints being planned.
3. Choose a planned fill level
Enter the share of physical capacity you intend to use. Values below 100% leave room for replenishment, assortment changes, and operational variability.
4. Read planned capacity
The main result is the unit capacity after applying the fill target. The breakdown also shows physical capacity and reserved headroom.
5. Segment mixed storage when needed
If pallet, case, shelf, and bin locations behave differently, calculate each group separately and combine the resulting capacities.
