Watts per pound = Throwing power (W) / Body weight (lb)Where:
- Throwing power = the measured or estimated mechanical power in watts.
- Body mass = athlete mass in kilograms after any required conversion.
Assumptions: The calculator does not infer power from pitch velocity. Use a consistent power-measurement method when comparing sessions or athletes.
What the result means
Higher watts per kilogram means more measured throwing power relative to body mass. It does not by itself indicate better command, pitch quality, or injury resilience.
Different sensors and biomechanical models can produce different wattage estimates, so compare values from the same measurement method whenever possible.
