Given:

Calculation:
Worker productivity = 960 ÷ (8 × 10) = 12 units per worker-hour. Crew-hour rate = 960 ÷ 10 = 96 units per crew-hour. Equipment-hour rate = 960 ÷ (3 × 10) = 32 units per equipment-hour.

Result: 32 units per equipment-hour.

The three-unit fleet averaged 32 completed units per equipment-hour while the eight-person crew averaged 12 units per worker-hour.

Why show both labor and equipment productivity?

Construction production often depends on both resources. Viewing both rates helps reveal whether extra equipment or labor is translating into proportional output.

Should standby equipment be counted?

Count it if you want an all-in assigned-fleet productivity rate. Exclude it only if your comparison convention tracks operating equipment separately, and apply that rule consistently.

Can different equipment types be combined?

Only if an equipment-hour is meaningfully comparable across those types. Otherwise, calculate each class separately or convert them to a common capacity basis.

What happens if equipment count changes mid-shift?
