- Total the regular prices. Add the customer-facing prices of all items included in the bundle.
- Set the bundle discount. Enter the percentage reduction from the combined regular price.
- Add combined product cost. Include the direct cost of every bundled item.
- Compare fulfillment paths. Estimate fulfillment cost if items were sold separately and when packed as one bundle.
- Enter fees. Add percentage and fixed order fees under the same assumptions for both scenarios.
- Review the profit change. A negative change is the per-order profit sacrificed to offer the bundle.
Etsy Bundle Calculator
The Etsy Bundle Calculator compares the revenue and contribution profit from selling a group of items separately with selling them together at a bundle discount. It shows the bundle price, customer savings, bundle cost, and profit change.
This analysis is useful for gift sets, coordinated products, and quantity offers. A bundle can raise average order value while reducing per-item margin, so the key question is whether the expected increase in units per order and fulfillment efficiency offsets the discount.
Calculator inputs
Bundle price = Combined regular price × (1 − Bundle discount)
Bundle profit = Bundle price − Percentage fees − Fixed fees − Product cost − Bundle fulfillment
Separate-sale profit = Combined regular price − Percentage fees − Fixed fees − Product cost − Separate fulfillment
Profit change = Bundle profit − Separate-sale profit
The comparison assumes the complete set is sold either as one bundle order or as the equivalent separate-price order.
What the result means
The main result is the discounted customer price for the complete bundle.
The calculator does not estimate how the bundle may change conversion rate or sales volume.
Given: Combined regular price $72, bundle discount 12%, product cost $28, separate fulfillment $12, bundle fulfillment $8, fees 10.5%, and fixed fees $0.45.
Calculation: Bundle price = 72 × 88% = $63.36. Bundle profit = 63.36 − 6.65 − 0.45 − 28 − 8 = $20.26. Separate-sale profit = 72 − 7.56 − 0.45 − 28 − 12 = $23.99. Profit change = 20.26 − 23.99 = −$3.73.
Result: The customer saves $8.64, while contribution profit decreases by about $3.73 per equivalent order.
Should fixed fees be counted once or once per item?
For one bundle order, count per-order fixed fees once. In a true separate-order comparison, multiple orders may incur multiple fixed fees and should be modeled accordingly.
Can a bundle be profitable even when profit change is negative?
Yes. A negative change only means the bundle earns less than the comparison scenario; bundle contribution profit can still be positive.
How do I include packaging savings?
Enter the higher total in separate fulfillment and the lower consolidated amount in bundle fulfillment.
Should I discount every item equally?
The calculator applies one discount to the combined price. You can still allocate the effective discount unevenly in your internal pricing as long as the total bundle price matches.
What metric should I monitor after launching a bundle?
Track bundle conversion, AOV, contribution profit per order, and attachment rate. Volume gains may compensate for lower per-bundle profit.
