What the result means

The main result is a daily fluid-planning estimate after adding exercise and selected adjustments.

People with kidney, heart, endocrine, or fluid-balance conditions should follow individualized medical advice rather than this general estimate.

Given: 70 kg, 45 minutes of exercise, warm climate adjustment, no life-stage adjustment.

Calculation: Base = 70 × 35 = 2,450 mL. Exercise = 45 ÷ 30 × 350 = 525 mL. Climate = 350 mL. Total = 3,325 mL.

Result: About 3.33 L per day, or roughly 14.1 US cups.

Does food moisture count toward hydration?

Yes. Many foods contribute water, so the amount you need to drink may be lower than total fluid needs.

Why is exercise based on time instead of sweat rate?

Duration is easy to enter but less individualized. Weighing before and after training can provide a better estimate of personal sweat loss.

Can drinking too much water be harmful?

Yes. Excessive intake over a short period can disturb electrolyte balance. Do not force fluids beyond comfort or individualized guidance.

Should coffee and tea count?

They contribute fluid for most people, although caffeine and personal tolerance may affect how you plan intake.

Why might my target change from day to day?
