Ongoing monthly cost = number of lines × service cost per line + device payments + monthly taxes and fees. First-year cost = monthly cost × 12 + one-time setup cost.

What the result means

The first-year result includes recurring service and device charges plus setup costs.

Promotional credits, data overages, roaming, and future device payoff changes are not automatically modeled.

Given: two lines at $45 each, $50 in device payments, $12 in taxes and fees, and a $60 setup charge. Calculation: 2 × $45 + $50 + $12 = $152 per month; $152 × 12 + $60 = $1,884. Result: estimated first-year cost is $1,884.

Should device payments be entered per line?

Enter the combined monthly device payment for all lines.

What belongs in taxes and fees?

Use the recurring billed amount for surcharges, regulatory fees, and taxes.

How are promotional discounts handled?

Subtract a recurring discount from the service cost or fees before entering the amount.

Why is the later-year cost different?

It excludes the one-time setup cost but still includes the entered device payments.

Can I compare carriers?

Run each plan using the same line count and comparable device assumptions, then compare totals.
