What the result means

The main result is the complete time commitment for the routine, including setup and between-cycle recovery.

A negative remaining value means the planned routine does not fit in the available period.

Given: Five 45-minute cycles, 15 minutes of setup, 10 minutes between cycles, and 480 available minutes.

Calculation: Work time = 45 × 5 = 225 minutes. Recovery = 10 × 4 = 40 minutes. Total = 225 + 40 + 15 = 280 minutes. Remaining = 480 − 280 = 200 minutes.

Result: The routine takes 280 minutes and leaves 200 minutes for other activities.

Why is recovery counted one fewer time than the number of cycles?

Recovery is placed between cycles. There is no between-cycle interval after the final cycle unless you add that time to the available period separately.

Can I use hours instead of minutes?

Convert every time value to minutes before entering it. Keeping one unit prevents inconsistent results.

What does a negative remaining time mean?

The routine exceeds the available period by the displayed amount. Shorten a cycle, reduce the number of cycles, or increase the available period.

Should setup be entered per cycle?

No. This model treats setup as a one-time amount. Add repeated setup time to the cycle duration when it occurs every cycle.
