Weekly Fitness Calculator

The Weekly Fitness Calculator consolidates four broad activity totals—structured workout minutes, workout sessions, steps, and active calories—into one weekly dashboard. It deliberately avoids converting unlike measures into a single score, because the meaning of each metric depends on the activity and tracking method.

Use the calculator to summarize a completed week, compare volume with prior weeks, or create a compact training log. The results show total workout time as the primary output plus daily and per-session averages. Steps and active calories provide additional context but should not be interpreted as direct substitutes for intensity, strength, mobility, or recovery.

1. Enter workout time
Add the total minutes from structured exercise sessions during the week.

2. Count sessions
Enter how many workouts make up the total time.

3. Add weekly steps
Use the seven-day total from one consistent tracker.

4. Add active calories
Enter the weekly active-calorie estimate if available; zero is acceptable.

5. Review separate metrics
Compare the averages without treating them as one combined fitness score.

Minutes per session = Total workout minutes ÷ Sessions
Steps per day = Weekly steps ÷ 7
Active calories per day = Weekly active calories ÷ 7

The main result is the entered weekly workout time. The other measures remain separate because adding minutes, steps, and calories would not create a meaningful physical unit.

What the result means

The dashboard describes how much activity was recorded, with workout time emphasized and the other measures shown as comparable weekly averages.

Tracker definitions for active calories and steps vary, so use consistent devices and settings when comparing weeks.

Given: 240 workout minutes across 5 sessions, 65,000 weekly steps, and 2,800 active calories.

Calculation: Minutes per session = 240 ÷ 5 = 48. Steps per day = 65,000 ÷ 7 = 9,285.71. Active calories per day = 2,800 ÷ 7 = 400.

Result: 240 workout minutes, 48 minutes per session, about 9,286 steps per day, and 400 active calories per day.

Why is there no overall fitness score?

Minutes, steps, and calories measure different things. Combining them requires subjective weights that may not reflect an individual goal.

Can I enter zero workout minutes?

Yes, but the session count must still be at least one in this version. For a week with no sessions, use one session and zero minutes only as a logging placeholder.

Are active calories the same as total calories burned?

No. Active calories generally exclude some or all resting energy, and device definitions can differ.

How should I compare two weeks?

Use the same device, workout-time convention, and seven-day boundaries. Then compare each metric separately.

Does this include recovery and mobility?

Only if you include those activities in workout minutes. The calculator has no separate quality or recovery adjustment.
