Workout Weight Estimator

The Workout Weight Estimator projects future body weight from a starting weight and an expected average weekly change. It is designed for training plans in which calorie intake and activity are expected to create a gradual gain or loss.

The projection is linear and does not predict water shifts, plateaus, or metabolic adaptation. Use it to set checkpoints and compare actual progress with a simple plan, then update the weekly rate when real measurements diverge.

What the result means

The result is the body weight implied by the entered average weekly change.

Short-term scale changes often reflect water and glycogen rather than tissue change.

Given: 80 kg, −0.5 kg per week, 12 weeks.

Calculation: 80 + (−0.5 × 12) = 74 kg.

Result: Projected weight is 74.0 kg.

Why use a weekly average?

Daily weight fluctuates. A weekly trend better represents sustained change.

Can I enter weight gain?

Yes. Enter a positive weekly change for a gaining phase.

What happens if progress slows?

Replace the planned rate with the recent observed rate and create a new projection.

Does this estimate fat loss specifically?

No. Scale change can include fat, muscle, water, glycogen, and digestive contents.

How often should I update it?

Updating every few weeks is usually more informative than reacting to a single weigh-in.
