What the result means

The main result is the estimated recurring cost to operate the aquarium for one year using the expenses entered.

Initial equipment purchases, livestock purchases, major repairs, and other one-time costs are excluded unless you deliberately fold them into a monthly input.

Given: 2.8 kWh/day at $0.18/kWh, $22/month for food, $35/month for maintenance and supplies, and $8/month for water-related costs.

Calculation: Electricity = 2.8 × $0.18 × 365 = $183.96. Food = $22 × 12 = $264. Maintenance = $35 × 12 = $420. Water = $8 × 12 = $96. Total = $963.96.
