Worker productivity = 24,000 ÷ (8 × 10) = 300 sq ft/worker-hr
Equivalent tons/hr = 3,000 × (2 ÷ 12) × 145 ÷ 2,000 = 36.25 tons/hr

Result: 3,000 sq ft/hr, 300 sq ft/worker-hr, and about 36.25 tons/hr.

Should breaks and truck waiting time be included in working hours?

Use the same time definition as the production benchmark you are comparing against. For sustained schedule productivity, normal operational waiting is often part of the observed rate.

Why does crew size not change square feet per hour?

The area rate is based on completed work and elapsed hours. Crew size affects the separate per-worker measure, which helps evaluate labor intensity.

Can I use actual ticket tons instead of density?

This calculator derives tons from geometry. If actual tons are available, compare them with the equivalent result or use a dedicated production calculation based on ticket weight.

Does the calculator account for pavement width?

Width is already reflected in the entered completed area. If you only know paving width and distance, multiply them to obtain square feet first.

How is this different from paver equipment capacity?

Crew productivity measures the whole paving operation as performed. Equipment capacity estimates what a paver could theoretically cover from width, speed, and utilization.
