Is this a standard bee feed conversion ratio?

No. Honey bees do not have one universal management FCR comparable to common livestock feed-to-weight-gain ratios. This page creates a ratio from the feed and output measure you define.

What can I use as measured output gain?

Use a kilogram-based output that is meaningful and measured consistently, such as a defined increase in harvested honey or another operation-specific production measure. Keep the same definition whenever you compare ratios.

Should natural forage be counted as feed?

This calculator only includes the feed quantity you enter. Natural forage is not quantified, which is one reason the ratio should not be interpreted as total biological feed efficiency.

What if output gain is zero?
