Bee Colony Nutrient Rate Estimator

What the result means

The result is the total mass of nutrient product needed to complete the entered feeding schedule for all colonies.

This estimator scales a user-supplied rate only; it does not determine whether a particular supplement, dose, or feeding schedule is appropriate for a colony.

Does the calculator recommend how many grams to feed?

No. You supply the rate. Use the supplement label, beekeeper guidance, colony condition, and local circumstances to choose an appropriate amount.

Can I enter less than one feeding per week?

Yes. A value such as 0.5 represents one feeding every two weeks on average over the planning period.

What if only some colonies receive the supplement?

Enter only the colonies included in the feeding program. Do not use the full apiary count unless every colony will be treated the same way.

Why is the main answer shown in kilograms?

Large apiary totals are easier to plan in kilograms, while the input remains in grams per colony. The breakdown also shows the exact total in grams.

Is this the same as estimating syrup or water needs?

No. This page scales a nutrient product measured by mass. Liquid feed or water planning may require volume, concentration, and different management assumptions.
