What does utilization represent?

It represents the portion of rated capacity expected to be sustained across the operation. It can account for normal interruptions and operating conditions that prevent continuous nameplate output.

Should I include concrete waste in the volume?

Include whatever quantity the equipment is expected to handle. If your material estimate already includes waste or overage, use that total rather than the theoretical net volume.

Can utilization be greater than 100%?

No. The calculator limits utilization to 100% because the entered rated capacity is treated as the maximum reference rate.

Does this estimate truck requirements?

No. Truck cycle time and delivery spacing are separate logistics constraints that can reduce realized equipment output.

Why is effective capacity useful?

It makes the productivity assumption visible. Two plans with the same rated equipment can have different operating durations when expected sustained utilization differs.
