Construction Labor Waste Allowance Estimator

Interpretation: The selected allowance adds 103.2 labor-hours above the theoretical base estimate.

Is this percentage the same as a productivity factor?

Not necessarily. It is a simple allowance on base hours; a productivity model may treat specific causes, crew composition, or work conditions separately.

Can I use the calculator for rework contingency?

Yes, if a percentage of base labor-hours is an appropriate way to model the expected rework. Document the reason so the allowance is transparent.

Does the adjusted total include overtime premium?

No. The result is labor-hours, not labor cost. Overtime premiums affect cost and sometimes productivity, but they are not calculated here.

What if I have several different allowances?

For transparent estimating, calculate major factors separately unless your estimating method explicitly combines them. Simply adding percentages can differ from compounding them.

How do I convert adjusted labor-hours into crew days?
