1. Set the scheduling window
Enter the total minutes in the demand period you are planning.
2. Subtract planned stops
Enter breaks, sanitation, meetings, or other planned nonproduction time that will not be available to make output.
3. Enter demand
Use the quantity that must be produced in that same period.
4. Read takt time
The result shows the maximum average time available per required unit.
5. Compare with actual capability
A measured cycle time below takt, with adequate uptime and quality, indicates more nominal pace capacity than the demand requires.
