This calculator converts a corporate baseline emissions figure and a reduction percentage into a target-year emissions level and the absolute amount of reduction required. It is useful for internal planning when a company has already selected a baseline inventory and wants to translate a percentage commitment into operational numbers.

The calculator does not judge whether a target aligns with any external initiative or regulatory requirement. What baseline year should I use?

Use the baseline period defined by your organization’s target methodology or reporting program. The calculator does not prescribe one.

Does this include carbon offsets?

No. It calculates a direct reduction target from baseline emissions. Offsets can be estimated separately if they are part of your strategy.

Does this verify alignment with a climate standard?

No. External target-validation criteria can include scope coverage, time horizons, and other requirements beyond this arithmetic calculation.
