Total booking cost = Base ticket total + Taxes and fees + Baggage + Seat selection + Other fees
Equal share = Total booking cost ÷ Number of travelers

This model assumes all entered charges are shared equally. Personal upgrades should be excluded from the shared total and assigned directly to the traveler who selected them.

What the result means

The main result is the amount each traveler owes when the entire booking is divided equally.

Airline refunds, credits, and exchange penalties should be entered as adjustments before splitting the final amount.

Given: Base tickets $1,200, taxes $180, bags $120, seats $80, other fees $20, and four travelers.

Calculation: Total = $1,200 + $180 + $120 + $80 + $20 = $1,600. Equal share = $1,600 ÷ 4 = $400.

Result: Each traveler owes $400, including $100 of combined taxes and add-ons.

Should a booking credit reduce the base ticket total?

Yes. Enter the net amount actually paid after applying a credit when the credit benefits the entire group.

How do I handle one traveler with an extra bag?

Do not include that personal bag fee in the shared baggage total. Add it separately to that traveler’s individual share.

Can taxes be split differently from the fare?

This calculator uses one equal split for all shared charges. For unequal tax or fare amounts, calculate traveler-specific totals outside the equal-share model.

What if someone cancels after the tickets are booked?

Recalculate using the amount that remains nonrefundable and the travelers who have agreed to share it. Cancellation responsibility depends on the group’s arrangement.

Does this calculate miles or points value?

No. It splits monetary charges only and does not assign a cash value to rewards used for booking.
