The Homework Score Estimator projects the score needed on remaining homework to reach a target homework average. It uses points already earned, points already possible, remaining points, and the desired final percentage.
This is useful before upcoming assignments because it converts a target average into a concrete point requirement. The estimator also flags when the target would require more than 100% of the remaining points, which may indicate that extra credit or a revised target is necessary.

The student must earn every remaining point to finish with an 85% homework average.
The target cannot be reached with ordinary points alone. Extra credit, score replacement, or a lower target would be needed.
The current point total is already high enough to preserve the target even if no more points are earned.
Apply the drop rule before entering totals, or run scenarios with and without the assignment. The calculator does not decide which score is dropped.
It works best for cumulative points. For separately weighted assignments, convert them to their weighted contributions first.
