The International Flight Calculator builds a complete airfare estimate from the base fare, taxes and carrier charges, checked baggage, seat selection, and airport transfers. It totals the costs for all travelers and converts any local-currency extras into a home currency.

Use it when a headline fare does not represent the amount the group will actually pay. Keep the base airfare and taxes in home currency, and enter destination-side transfers or other local extras in local currency with a matching conversion rate.

1. Enter the traveler count

Include everyone covered by the fare and per-person fees.

Where:

  • Base fare — ticket price per traveler before entered taxes
  • Checked bags — total bags charged, not bags per traveler
  • Exchange rate — home-currency units per local-currency unit

Assumptions: Each traveler has the same base fare, tax, and seat fee, while the baggage input is the total number of charged bags.

What the result means

The main result is the complete estimated flight-related budget in home-currency units.

Optional meals, lounge access, change fees, visas, and travel insurance are excluded unless added to another input.

Given:

  • 2 travelers
  • Base fare: $850 each
  • Taxes and carrier fees: $180 each
  • 2 checked bags at $70 each
  • Seat fee: $35 each
  • Local extras: 120 units at 0.92 home units per local unit

Calculation:

Fare and taxes = 2 × ($850 + $180) = $2,060

Baggage = 2 × $70 = $140

Seat fees = 2 × $35 = $70

Converted extras = 120 × 0.92 = $110.40

Total = $2,060 + $140 + $70 + $110.40 = $2,380.40

Result: $2,380.40 total flight-related cost.

Interpretation: Add-ons and local airport costs raise the budget $320.40 above the base fares alone.

Are baggage fees entered per traveler?

Enter the total number of charged bags for the booking. The calculator multiplies that count by the fee per bag.

Should round-trip fares be doubled?

No, not when the entered quote already covers the round trip. Double only a one-way fare when you intentionally model two identical one-way tickets.

Where should airline change or booking fees go?

Combine known home-currency charges with taxes and carrier fees, or add them manually to the final budget.

Why separate local extras from airfare?

It allows airport transfers or destination charges to be converted with a local exchange rate without changing the home-currency ticket quote.

Does the result guarantee the booking price?

No. Availability, fare classes, payment fees, and exchange rates can change before ticketing.
