What the result means

Use the same scope when estimating hours per unit and review time so the same activity is not counted twice.
Given: 12 live sessions, 4.5 preparation hours per session, 20% reusable material, and 9 review hours.
Calculation: Gross preparation = 12 × 4.5 = 54 hours. Reuse savings = 54 × 0.20 = 10.8 hours. Total = 54 − 10.8 + 9 = 52.2 hours.
Result: Estimated content-production time = 52.2 hours.
The reuse assumption saves 10.8 hours before the shared review step is added.
Does this include teaching the live sessions?
No. The model is for preparing content, plus the review time you enter. Delivery and facilitation hours should be planned separately.
How should I estimate preparation hours per session?
Use recent projects with similar complexity when possible. Include the activities you consistently consider part of content preparation and exclude work counted elsewhere.
What does reusable material share mean?
It is the percentage of session-level production effort that existing materials are expected to eliminate. It is not necessarily the percentage of slides or files that already exist.
Can review time be zero?
