1. Enter framing and drywall cost
Use the material subtotal before intentional overage for framing lumber, drywall, and related shell materials included in this group.
2. Choose shell waste
Set the percentage reserved for cuts, damaged sheets, blocking, and unusable remnants.
3. Enter flooring cost and waste
Use a separate flooring allowance so room shape, direction, and pattern can be reflected independently.
4. Enter trim and finish cost
Group baseboards, casing, finish carpentry stock, and similar materials, then choose a waste percentage for that group.
5. Review the waste reserve
Compare the added dollars by category and the full material budget after applying all three allowances.
