Daily Pace Calculator

Calculate pace, speed, and projected finish time from distance and elapsed time. It supports kilometers or miles and converts the same effort into both pace formats for easier training comparisons.

The result is an average. Hills, stops, wind, terrain, and pacing changes can make individual segments faster or slower than the overall value.

Average speed
  1. Enter distance and choose unit.
  2. Enter elapsed hours, minutes, and seconds.
  3. Review average pace.
  4. Compare kilometer and mile pace.
  5. Use splits for uneven courses.
Pace = elapsed time ÷ distance
Speed = distance ÷ elapsed time

What the result means

The main result is the average time required to cover one selected distance unit.

Average pace includes any stops included in elapsed time.

Given: 5 km in 25 minutes.

Calculation: 25÷5 = 5 minutes per kilometer. Speed = 5÷(25/60) = 12 km/h.

Result: 5:00 min/km.

Should I use moving time or elapsed time?

Use moving time for active pace and elapsed time for total event pace including stops.

How are miles converted?

One mile is treated as 1.609344 kilometers.

Why is treadmill pace different outdoors?

Wind, terrain, calibration, and running mechanics can create differences.

Can this predict race time?

It can scale a constant pace, but endurance and course conditions may change over longer distances.

What if seconds round to 60?

The display carries the extra second into the next minute.
