The Study Grade Calculator combines completed academic work and a planned study assessment into one projected course grade. It is useful when you know your current weighted average and want to see how a future exam, project, or study checkpoint could change the overall result.
Enter the percentage of the course already completed, your average on that work, and the expected score on the remaining portion. The result shows the projected final grade, the weighted points contributed by each portion, and the increase or decrease from your current average. The calculator uses a two-part weighted average.
Projected grade = (Current average × Completed weight) + (Expected remaining score × Remaining weight)Convert each weight from a percentage to a decimal before multiplying. Remaining weight equals 100% minus completed weight. The model assumes the current average accurately summarizes all completed work and that the remaining portion can be represented by one expected score.
The main result is the estimated final course percentage if the remaining work is completed at the entered score.
Actual grading systems may include category rules, dropped assignments, extra credit, or rounding policies that are not represented here.
Given: 70% of a course is complete, the current average is 82%, and the expected score on the remaining 30% is 90%.
Calculation:
Completed points = 82 × 0.70 = 57.40
Remaining points = 90 × 0.30 = 27.00
Projected grade = 57.40 + 27.00 = 84.40%
Result: The projected final grade is 84.40%, which is 2.40 percentage points above the current average.
Enter the share of the final grade that has already been scored, not the percentage of assignments completed unless every assignment carries equal weight.
The inputs are limited to 100%, so this model does not include extra credit. A course that allows bonus points may produce a higher official grade.
Only the remaining weight is affected by the expected score. A small remaining portion has limited influence on the final grade.
