Terrarium Dose Schedule Planner

This planner turns a terrarium treatment or supplement instruction into a simple dosing schedule. Enter the amount used for each dose, the interval between doses, and the length of the planned course. The calculator returns the number of scheduled doses, total product required, and the approximate span from the first dose to the last.

It is useful for keepers who already have a product label, veterinarian instruction, husbandry protocol, or other established dose amount and need help organizing timing and inventory. The tool does not decide what product should be used or what dose is appropriate for an animal or enclosure; it only applies the values you enter. That makes it especially helpful for avoiding skipped applications, checking whether a bottle contains enough product for the course, and comparing schedules with different intervals.

1. Enter the dose amount
Use the amount specified by the product label, veterinarian, or husbandry plan. The calculator does not determine a safe dose for you.

2. Set the interval
Enter the number of days from one application to the next. Decimals are allowed for sub-day schedules expressed as fractions of a day.

3. Define the course length
Enter the total planning window in days. A dose is counted on day 0, then at each full interval that falls within the course.

4. Add inventory on hand
Enter how much product you currently have if you want to see whether it covers the entire schedule.

5. Review the schedule summary
Check the dose count, total product needed, last scheduled dose timing, and estimated product remaining.

Dose count = floor(Course length ÷ Interval) + 1

Total product = Dose count × Amount per dose

Last dose day = (Dose count − 1) × Interval

The first dose is treated as occurring on day 0. Only full intervals that land within the entered course are counted. This planner uses your entered dose; it does not establish medical or husbandry dosing guidance.

What the result means

The main result is the number of applications scheduled from day 0 through the entered course window.

Use the schedule as an organizational aid and follow the instructions that established the actual product, dose, route, and treatment duration.

Given:
5 mL per dose; every 7 days; 28-day course; 30 mL on hand.

Calculation:
floor(28 ÷ 7) + 1 = 5 doses. Total product = 5 × 5 mL = 25 mL. Last dose = (5 − 1) × 7 = day 28.

Result:
5 scheduled doses, requiring 25 mL total, with 5 mL remaining.

Interpretation:
The entered inventory is enough for the complete schedule, including the dose on day 28.

Why is the first dose counted on day 0?

The planner assumes the course begins when the first application is given. Later doses are placed one full interval after that starting point.

Can I use hours instead of days?

This page accepts days, but you can enter fractions of a day. For example, 12 hours is 0.5 day.

Does this calculate a safe dose for reptiles or amphibians?

No. Enter a dose that comes from an appropriate product instruction, veterinarian, or established husbandry protocol; the planner only schedules that amount.

What happens if the course length is shorter than the interval?

The first dose is still counted, so the result is one scheduled dose. No later dose is included unless another full interval fits inside the course.

How should I use the inventory result?

It is a quantity check. A negative remaining amount means the entered supply is short by that amount; it does not account for spills, priming, or unusable residue.
